To avoid burns, it is recommended to start work after the exhaust system has cooled down.
We separate the flanges of the intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter and remove the sealing gasket (see Removing the intermediate pipe).
Using the "12" head, unscrew the three bolts securing the heat shield..
...and take it off.
For the convenience of the subsequent operation, remove the tip of the high-voltage wire from the spark plug of the second cylinder.
penetrating liquid ("liquid key") With a special penetrating liquid, we moisten the nuts of the studs securing the catalytic converter flange to the exhaust manifold flange.
With a "14" head with an extension, we unscrew the three nuts securing the flanges of the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold (for clarity, the tip of the high-voltage wire of the spark plug of the first cylinder is removed).
Removing catalytic converter..
...and a gasket.
We install the catalytic converter in the reverse order.
We replace the sealing gaskets in the joints of the flanges of the intermediate pipe with the catalytic converter and the catalytic converter with the exhaust manifold with new ones.
