For greater clarity, the work is shown on a dismantled engine.
Draining the coolant (see Coolant replacement).
Removing the camshaft pulley (see Camshaft oil seal replacement).
With a "10" head, we unscrew the four bolts securing the rear cover of the timing belt drive..
...and take it off.
With a "5" hexagon, we unscrew the three screws securing the pump to the cylinder block.
We remove the pump from the socket of the cylinder block.
Before installing the pump, we clean the mating surface of the cylinder block.
We install a new rubber sealing ring in the groove of the pump housing.
During the subsequent adjustment of the timing belt tension, it is necessary to turn the pump installed in the socket of the cylinder block.
Therefore, in order to preserve the sealing properties of the ring, we recommend applying a layer of silicone lubricant to it, which reduces friction in moving joints.
Aerosol silicone lubricant.
Install the coolant pump in reverse order.
In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the groove on the pump housing is located as shown in the photo.
The final tightening of the pump mounting screws is carried out after installing the timing belt (see Checking the condition and replacing the timing belt).
