The condition of the steering gear cover must be carefully monitored, because. if it is leaky, dirt gets into the cavity of the mechanism, which can cause jamming of the rack.
Dismantling the steering gear (see Removing the steering gear).
Remove the right bracket and the rubber support mounting the steering gear housing.
Using the "19" wrench, we unscrew the two union nuts securing the tubes to the steering gear housing and move the tubes to the side.
With side cutters, we bite the lock of the clamp for attaching the protective cover and remove the clamp.
Remove the other clamp in the same way.
Having shifted the protective cover on the right side of the case, we remove the split remote bushing from under it and remove it.
Remove the protective cover from the steering gear housing.
We put a new cover on the steering gear housing.
To fix the rack, slider and steering gear cover in the correct position, through the holes in the cover and slider, we bait bolts for fastening the inner tie rod ends into the threaded holes of the rack.
We shift the cover along the crankcase to the right so that the split distance sleeve is installed in the mounting groove made on the crankcase.
We fix the cover with new clamps.
Further assembly of the steering mechanism is carried out in the reverse order.
We install the steering mechanism on the car.
