We pump out the fluid from the reservoir of the power steering pump. We remove the air filter housing and take it to the side along with the air duct (see Removing the air filter).
Remove the alternator drive belt (see Replacing the alternator drive belt).
key «at 17» we unscrew the fitting of the discharge line pipe, holding the union nut of the pump pipe with a wrench «at 22» (for clarity, the coolant hose is removed) …
... and remove the discharge line from the pump tube.
We close the openings of the tubes with suitable plugs.
Using pliers with long jaws, we squeeze the clamp of the inlet hose, slide the clamp along the hose and remove the hose from the pump nozzle.
We close the openings of the hose and pipe with suitable plugs.
ring wrench «at 12» unscrew the three bolts securing the power steering pump pulley, holding the pump shaft from turning with a hexagon «for 8» (for clarity shown on the removed engine) …
... and remove the pulley.
head «at 12» loosen the two bolts securing the pump housing to the cylinder block..
... and we shift the pump from the cylinder block in order to make it possible to remove the upper cover of the timing belt.
Remove the top timing belt cover (see Checking the condition and replacing the timing belt).
We unscrew the bolts of the pump housing to the end...... and remove it.
Install the power steering pump in reverse order.
