Removing the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control unit

We remove the block to replace the failed damper drive rods and backlights, as well as to replace the block assembly.

The above work is carried out on a car that is not equipped with an audio system.

If present, the head unit of the audio system must be removed.

Disconnect the wire terminal from the "negative" terminal of the battery.



With a slotted screwdriver, we wring out both ends of the facing lining of the instrument panel console at the top and bottom.



Remove cover plate.



Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the plug.




We remove the plug and disconnect the wiring harness block and antenna cable from the holders.



We display a basket for installing the head unit of the audio system from the instrument panel console.

To make it easier to continue working, we also recommend that you remove the drawer for small items located below.



To do this, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws securing the box..




... and remove the box from the instrument panel console.



We turn off two self-tapping screws of fastening of the block of management of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.



We remove the three latches in the upper part of the block from engagement with the instrument panel and remove the block towards ourselves as far as the length of the wires and rods allows.




Disconnect the wiring harness blocks from the block.



We press the latch of the shell of the thrust of the drive of the dampers of the distribution of air flows with a finger..



... we remove the shell from the holder on the block body and disconnect the rod from the block lever.




Similarly, we disconnect the draft of the drive of the damper of the air temperature regulator.



Using a screwdriver, we press the retainer of the shell of the recirculation damper drive rod..



... we remove the thrust shell from the holder and disconnect it from the block lever.



With tweezers, turn counterclockwise the cartridge of the backlight lamp of the unit..



... and extract it.



We remove the colored cap from the lamp..



... remove the baseless lamp from the socket and replace it with a new W1,2W.

Install the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control unit in reverse order.
