We replace the oil seal when a leak of oil from the gearbox is detected through it. Removing the front wheel drive (see Removing the front wheel drives).
It is convenient to remove the stuffing box with a rigid metal cage from the gearbox housing with an impact puller.
Hooking the hook of the impact puller over the edge of the stuffing box holder, we press the stuffing box out of the box crankcase socket.
Before installing a new oil seal, apply a thin layer of gear oil to its working edge.
We press the oil seal into the socket of the gearbox housing with a mandrel (e.g. tool head) suitable size.
If necessary, similarly change the drive seal of the other wheel. Left and right wheel drive seals are the same.
We install the front wheel drive and fill the gear oil into the gearbox to the required level.
