The gearbox is factory-filled with gear oil designed to last the life of the vehicle.
However, during the operation of the car, it may be necessary to drain the oil and replace it, for example, when repairing the gearbox or when there is a significant oil leak from the box, when it is not possible to add oil of the same brand that was poured into the gearbox. It is recommended to change the oil on a warm gearbox.
We clean the bottom cover of the gearbox from contamination.
We substitute a wide container with a volume of at least 3.5 liters under the lid.
With the "13" head, we do not completely unscrew the 10 bolts securing the cover...... and drain the oil into the substituted container.
After draining the oil, completely unscrew the bolts and remove the cover.
We clean it from deposits, wear products of parts and traces of the old gasket, and also clean the mating surface of the gearbox housing. We replace the gasket with a new one or apply a sealant-former gasket to the mating surface of the cover. We screw in the bolts and evenly tighten them to the prescribed torque (see Applications).
Pour gear oil into the gearbox to the required level (see Checking the level and topping up the oil in the manual transmission).
