Set the gear lever to the neutral position.
In the engine compartment, we unscrew the bolt of the terminal connection of the gearbox control rod with the drive input shaft (see Gearbox control drive adjustment).
We take out the bolt (for clarity of operation, we show on the removed control rod) …
... and remove the clamp of the terminal connection from the rod.
We move the anther along the thrust forward..
... and remove the anther centering sleeve from the hole in the bulkhead.

In the passenger compartment, remove the rear and front parts of the floor tunnel lining (see Removing the rear section of the floor tunnel lining and Removing the front part of the floor tunnel lining).
We bite with side cutters a plastic clamp for securing the gear lever cover..
... and remove the cover with the frame from the lever rod.
We remove from the holes in the housing of the control mechanism two holders of the wiring harness of the airbag control unit.
With a "10" head with an extension, we unscrew the two bolts of the front fastening and two nuts of the rear fastening of the gear shift control housing.
We remove the bracket for fastening the front part of the floor tunnel lining from the floor studs.
We lift the body of the control mechanism by the lever and move it back, removing the thrust from the hole in the front panel.
Shift Control Assembly The shift lever can be replaced without removing the shift control housing, but by removing only the rear and front of the floor tunnel lining.
For clarity, we show the removal of the lever on the dismantled housing of the control mechanism.
Having removed the spring latch of the lever axis from the lever rod, we take out the axis from the holes in the lever and the link.
We derive the lever from the holes of the thrust and backstage.
If necessary, we take out the backstage bearing supports from the housing holes and take out the backstage with bearings.
Having replaced the failed parts, we assemble and install the gearshift control mechanism in reverse order.
After installation, adjust the gearbox control drive (see Gearbox control drive adjustment).
