We carry out work with an empty tank or when no more than 5 liters of fuel remain in it. Disconnect the wiring harness from the fuel module (see Removal and disassembly of the fuel module).
We unscrew the bolts securing the parking brake cable brackets to the body and remove the cables from the holders (see Removing elements of the parking brake system). Disconnect the filler pipe and the vent pipe from the fuel tank nozzles (see Removing the fill pipe). A hose can be used to drain fuel from the tank through the opening of the pipe.
In front of the fuel tank..
... by pressing the latch on the tip of the plastic tube for removing fuel vapors from the adsorber, we disconnect the tip from the metal tube of the adsorber purge valve.
Similarly, we disconnect the tip of the plastic fuel supply pipe from another metal tube.
At the back of the fuel tank..
... by pressing the latch of the tip of the tube for supplying fuel vapor to the adsorber, we disconnect the tip from the tube of the gravity valve of the fuel tank.
We install a height-adjustable stop under the fuel tank, placing a wooden block between it and the tank.
With a high "12" head, we unscrew the nuts securing the two clamps pressing the tank to the body.
Having lowered the tank on the stop, remove the holders of the tube for removing fuel vapors from the adsorber from the tank flange.
We remove the fuel tank from the space between the pipe of the additional muffler and the bottom of the body and remove the tank.
Install the fuel tank in reverse order.
Fill the tank with fuel, turn on the ignition and check the tightness of the connections of the fuel lines.
