To avoid burns, it is recommended to start work after the exhaust system has cooled down.
We disconnect the block of wires of the diagnostic oxygen concentration sensor from the wiring harness of the engine management system and turn the sensor out of the intermediate pipe (see Removing the Diagnostic Oxygen Sensor).
Wet the nuts securing the intermediate pipe flange to the catalytic converter flange with a penetrating liquid.
With a "14" head, unscrew the nuts of the three studs securing the intermediate pipe flange to the catalytic converter flange.
Using the "14" head, unscrew the bolt securing the catalytic converter bracket to the engine block.
Remove the catalytic converter bracket.
We shift the pipe flange from the studs on the catalytic converter flange. Disconnect the flange of the first additional muffler on the intermediate pipe from the flange of the second additional muffler and remove the sealing gasket (see Replacing the additional muffler).
We turn the intermediate pipe with the flange down and, moving it back, we remove it from the front suspension subframe.
Remove the sealing gasket of the flanges of the intermediate pipe and catalytic converter.
We install new gaskets in the joints of the intermediate pipe with the catalytic converter and the flanges of the additional mufflers. We mount the intermediate pipe in the reverse order.
When installing the catalytic converter bracket, we first tighten the bolt that secures it to the engine block until it stops, but do not tighten it, and then we screw and tighten the nut that secures the bracket to the flanges of the catalytic converter and the intermediate pipe.
After tightening the flange nuts, tighten the bolt securing the bracket to the engine block.
