To avoid burns, it is recommended to start work after the exhaust system has cooled down.
Disconnect the block of wires of the control oxygen concentration sensor from the wiring harness of the engine management system (Removing the control oxygen concentration sensor).
We separate the flanges of the intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter and remove the sealing gasket (see Removing the intermediate pipe).
With a key or a "12" head, we unscrew the three bolts securing the heat shield..
... and then remove it, removing the block of wires of the control oxygen concentration sensor from the hole.
With a penetrating liquid, we moisten the nuts of the studs of the catalytic converter flange to the exhaust manifold flange.
With a "14" head with an extension, we unscrew the three nuts of the studs securing the flanges of the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold.
Remove catalytic converter and gasket.
We install the catalytic converter in the reverse order.
We replace the sealing gaskets in the joints of the flanges of the intermediate pipe with the catalytic converter and the catalytic converter with the exhaust manifold with new ones.
