Key positions in the ignition lock: LOCK - lock position; ACC is the position at which consumers are turned on; ON - ignition position; START - starter engagement position
Switch (lock) ignition - a device responsible for the inclusion of many important functions. It should be handled with care, preventing dirt or damage to the ignition key, as well as dirt and foreign objects getting inside the lock.
the ignition lock is installed on the steering column on the right side. insert the ignition key into the lock and remove it only in the LOCK position. In order to turn the ignition key from the ACC position to the LOCK position, it is necessary to press the key while turning it, slightly drowning it.
the ignition lock is equipped with an anti-theft device that blocks the steering shaft. For the device to work, it is necessary to remove the key from the ignition lock and turn the steering wheel in any direction until the locking element clicks. To unlock the shaft, insert the key into the ignition lock and, while slightly shaking the steering wheel, turn the key from the LOCK position to the ACC position.
Never remove the key from the ignition when the car is moving! The steering wheel may lock up and the vehicle will lose control.
When the key is not inserted into the ignition lock, or is inserted into it and is in the LOCK position (fixed position), the following functions are available to the driver:
- turning on side lights and fog lights;
- short-term high beam signal (flashing);
- turning on the backlight of the instrument cluster and adjusting the brightness of the backlight;
- turning on the sound signal;
- use of the sound reproduction system;
- switching on the interior lamps and the glove box lamp (when opening glove box).
If the key is inserted into the ignition lock and turned to any position, then when the driver's door is opened, a warning chime will sound.
When the key is turned to ACC (fixed position), in addition to the functions mentioned above, include:
- digital clock indication;
- 12 V socket under the instrument panel in the center;
- cigarette lighter.
When the key is turned to the ON position (fixed position) the ignition is turned on and voltage is applied to the power circuits of all consumers of electricity. The indicator lamps on the instrument panel come on.
In the START position (non-fixed position) the starter turns on. after starting the engine, you must release the ignition key, and it will automatically return to the ON position.
Do not leave the ignition key in the LOCK, ACC, or ON position for a long time, and if possible, do not use the car's electrical appliances with the engine off. This may lead to battery discharge.
Always remove the key from the ignition when leaving the vehicle, even for a short time. Do not trust the ignition key to children and strangers. When leaving the car, leave the ignition key to the passengers only in extreme cases, being sure that they, using it, will not harm themselves and others, and will not damage your car.
