Bulbs in fog lamps can be replaced in two ways: from above, from the engine compartment, or from below the vehicle. We show work on a car with a hatchback body.
When replacing the lamp from the engine compartment, remove the headlight (see Removing the headlight).
Turn counterclockwise and remove the bulb from the headlight housing.
Squeezing the latch, disconnect the block of wires from the lamp.
When replacing the lamp in the second way, we take out the piston from the bottom of the car, unscrew the two screws securing the fender liner to the front bumper (see Removing the front wheel arches) …
... and two self-tapping screws for fastening the fender liner to the bumper in the wheel well.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw of the piston securing the fender liner to the mudguard...... and taking out the piston, bend the front part of the fender liner.
Turning counterclockwise, remove the lamp from the headlight housing.
Squeezing the latch, disconnect the block of wires from the lamp.
The fog lamp is halogen. You should not touch its glass bulb with your fingers, as traces of them will lead to a darkening of the lamp when heated and a deterioration in the glow. You can remove contamination from the flask with a clean rag soaked in alcohol.
We install a new H27W / 1 lamp in the reverse order.
