We carry out work when checking and replacing the reverse light switch.
You can remove the reverse light switch from above in the engine compartment. We work with the ignition off.
We clean the reverse light switch and the part of the gearbox housing around the switch from dirt.
The switch is located in the gearbox housing, in front of the vehicle.
Having pressed the lock of the block, we disconnect the block of wires from the switch.
Turning on the ignition, with a piece of wire we close the contacts of the switch wire block. If the reverse lights do not come on, check the electrical circuit. Otherwise, the switch must be replaced with a new one.
Turn off the switch with the "19" key.
We take out the switch from the hole in the gearbox housing.
The circuit breaker is sealed in the crankcase with a soft metal washer.
We connect the tester probes to the terminals of the switch and in the "Ohmmeter" mode we check the switch. For a working switch with a free state of its stem, the tester should fix "infinity", and with a "recessed" stem (switch contacts closed) - the presence of a chain.
Install the reverse light switch in reverse order. Tighten the switch to the specified torque (see Applications).
