We hang out the front of the car and securely fix the car on the factory-made stands. Remove the front wheels and the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system (see Removing the intermediate pipe). Removing the rear support of the power unit (see Replacing power unit supports).
Remove the ball joint pins from the lugs of the steering knuckles (see Removing the lever).
With the "10" head, we unscrew the bolt securing the tube of the drain line of the power steering.
Disconnect the stabilizer bars from the stabilizer bar (see Removing the anti-roll bar). The subframe can be removed as an assembly with the steering gear or after disconnecting them.
First, we will show a method in which the steering mechanism remains in place. We unscrew the two bolts and two nuts securing the steering mechanism to the subframe (see Removing the steering gear).
We substitute an adjustable stop under the subframe.
On the left side of the car with the "17" head, we unscrew the bolt of the rear fastening of the subframe to the body.
Similarly, we turn off the bolt of the rear subframe mounting on the right side of the car.
Through the hole in the left suspension arm with a "19" head with an extension, we unscrew the nut of the front fastening of the subframe.
Similarly, we unscrew the nut of the front fastening of the subframe on the right side.
Slightly lower the subframe on the stop.
We remove the steering gear from the subframe studs and hang it on a cord to the gearbox control rod.
Having lowered the emphasis, remove the subframe assembly with the levers and the bar of the anti-roll bar.
The subframe can also be dismantled as an assembly with the steering gear.
In this case, it is necessary to disconnect the hydraulic booster pipes from the steering mechanism (drain liquid), the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles and disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the pinion shaft.
Having unscrewed the fastening elements, we remove the levers, the anti-roll bar and the steering gear from the subframe.
With the "17" head, we unscrew the five bolts securing the cross member to the subframe..
...and remove the crossbar.
We assemble and install the subframe in the reverse order. Tighten the bolts and nuts of the subframe to the prescribed torques (see Applications).
