We show the replacement of the brake hose of the left rear wheel.
Similarly, we change the brake hose of the right rear wheel, after removing the casing of the fuel tank filler pipe (see Removing the fill pipe).
Before unscrewing the brake pipe fitting from the upper hose tip with a metal brush, we clean the place of their connection from dirt and corrosion and apply a penetrating liquid to them.
Using a special "10" wrench for fittings of brake pipes, we loosen the tightening of the fitting for attaching the brake pipe to the upper tip of the hose, holding the tip with a "19" wrench.
Use pliers to remove the retaining clip that secures the upper hose end to the body bracket.
Loosen the brake hose..
... remove the hose tip from the bracket hole.
In this case, the flat made on the tip must coincide with the flat of the hole in the bracket.
To prevent leakage of brake fluid, we put a cap on the brake bleed valve on the end of the brake tube.
Use pliers to remove the retaining clip securing the brake hose coupling to the shock absorber strut bracket.
Aligning the flat of the hose coupling with the flat of the hole in the bracket, we remove the coupling up from the hole..
... and take out the hose through the slot of the bracket.
Using a 12 spanner wrench, unscrew the bolt fitting that secures the lower hose tip to the caliper.
We remove the copper washer from the bolt-fitting and take out the bolt-fitting with another copper washer from the hole in the hose tip.
Install the rear wheel brake hose in reverse order. After installation, we pump the hydraulic brake system (see Bleeding hydraulic brake system).
