Disconnect the wiring harness from the fluid level sensor (see Removing the brake master cylinder).
Using pliers, we compress the ends of the clamp for attaching the vacuum supply hose to the amplifier fitting and slide the clamp along the hose.
Remove the hose from the amplifier fitting.
We disconnect the fluid supply hose to the clutch master cylinder from the fitting of the master brake cylinder and unscrew the fittings of the two brake pipes (see Removing the brake master cylinder).
By loosening the fittings securing these pipes to the ABS hydraulic unit (see Removing the ABS block) …
... we take the tubes away from the main cylinder.
In the car, remove the protective cover (see Removing the instrument panel).
Under the dashboard..
... use pliers to remove the spring retainer of the pin securing the pusher fork of the vacuum booster to the brake pedal.
We take out the finger from the holes of the pedal and the pusher fork.
With the "12" head, we unscrew the four nuts securing the vacuum booster.
We remove the booster pusher from the hole in the bulkhead...... and remove the vacuum booster from the engine compartment.
We check the size between the axis of the holes of the pusher fork and the mating surface of the vacuum booster, which should be 120 mm.
To get the correct size..
... with a "14" wrench, we unscrew the lock nut, holding the pusher fork with a beard.
By rotating the fork, we achieve the desired size, after which we tighten the lock nut. Install the brake booster in reverse order. Bleeding the hydraulic brake system (see Bleeding hydraulic brake system).
