General information about the car

The Chevrolet Cruze is a collaboration between Suzuki and General Motors, replacing the unrelated Chevrolet Cobalt and Chevrolet Lacetti. Chevrolet Cruze is built on a common platform with the new generation Opel Astra J. The release of the Chevrolet Cruze car began in the summer of 2008, and at the end of the same year, sales of cars began in South Korea under the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere brand.

In 2009, GM began manufacturing Chevrolet Cruze vehicles at the plant «General Motors Auto» in St. Petersburg.

Chevrolet Cruze cars are equipped with 1.6-liter gasoline engines (113 HP) and 1.8 l (141 HP) in three trim levels: Base, LS and LT.

Included with Base («basic equipment») Includes anti-lock brake system (ABS), four airbags, four-speaker CD/MP3 audio system, front power windows, height-adjustable steering column.

Included with LS («basic equipment plus») added rear power windows, front fog lights, leather steering wheel and gear shift knobs.

Equipment LT («equipment LS plus»), in addition to the previously listed, includes a climate control system, a cruise control system, 17-inch alloy wheels, an electronic anti-skid ESP system and a six-speaker audio system.

The cars are equipped with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Front suspension independent, MacPherson type, rear - semi-independent, torsion bar type.

The brake mechanisms of all wheels are disc, with a floating caliper, and the front brake discs are ventilated. Drum parking brake mechanisms are built into the brake mechanisms of the rear wheels.


Steering safety, with hydraulic booster.

Body type four-door sedan, all-metal, welded construction with hinged front fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid.
