Removal and installation of the switch (lock) of ignition

Switch (lock) ignition is mounted on the steering column and secured with two bolts with self-tapping heads, therefore, to replace it, the bolts must be removed with a chisel or drilled with an electric drill. Switch (lock) ignition can be replaced without removing the steering column, but for convenience, you can remove it (see «Removal and installation of a steering column»).

You will need a drill.

1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.



2. Remove the steering wheel (see «Removal and installation of a steering wheel»).



3. Remove the top...



4....and the bottom of the steering column cover (see «Removal and installation of a casing of a steering column»).




5. Remove the casing from the ignition lock.

6. Remove paddle shifters (see «Replacing paddle shifters»).



7. Drill out the bolt head of the switch to the steering column, using a drill and a suitable drill bit, and remove the switch (lock) ignition (for clarity shown on the removed steering column).

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. When installing the ignition switch to the steering column, use bolts with nuts.
