Car without load (in the cabin only the driver) accelerate to a speed of approximately 15-20 km / h. Depress the brake pedal sharply to obtain the maximum possible deceleration and do not release it until the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
If the car stopped without deviating from a straight line, and the deceleration was sufficiently intense, the braking system can be considered serviceable. Otherwise, check the condition of the elements and repair the system if necessary.
Note: The following ratios must be observed (pic. 9.5):
- Llion. per. = Lis right. per.
- Llion. rear = L is right. rear
- Ltrans. > Lrear
Warnings: If a similar test on an ABS-equipped vehicle shows brake marks as clear as a test on a non-ABS vehicle, then the anti-lock brake system is faulty. In this case, immediately contact a car service for its repair. Do not abuse this assessment, because it is associated with increased one-sided tire wear.
