2. Put the car on a lift.
3. Fold out retainer A of the brake and fuel pipes. Unscrew nut B fastening the flanges of the outlet and inlet pipelines to the thermostatic valve.
4. Move the pipe flanges away from the expansion valve.
5. Remove the two bolts securing the thermostatic valve to the evaporator piping flange.
6. Remove the valve from the piping flange.
Warning: If solid particles are found in the valve orifice (usually in the form of small balls), which means that the filter element of the receiver, filled with granules of the desiccant, has collapsed (silica gel). Replacing only the thermostatic valve in this case will not give a positive result. You will need to replace the receiver cartridge with flushing the system. This rather time-consuming procedure can only be performed in a specialized service center using special technological equipment.
7. Install new O-rings on the evaporator tubing flange and lubricate them with compressor oil.
8. Install thermostatic valve in reverse order of removal. Tighten the valve mounting bolts to 4.5 Nm. Do not apply excessive force when tightening the valve mounting bolts.
9. Charge the air conditioning system with refrigerant at a specialized auto air conditioning service center.
