Removal procedure
1. Move gearbox to neutral.
2. Lifting and supporting the car.
3. Put an index mark indicating the position of the driveshaft relative to the flange of the rear drive unit.
4. Install a stand under the driveshaft in the place where the rear drive unit is located.
5. Remove the propshaft yoke flange bolts to the rear drive unit flange.
6. Put an index mark indicating the position of the cardan shaft relative to the PTO flange (PTU).
7. Place a stand under the propeller shaft at the location of the PTU.
8. Remove the bolts securing the PTO shaft to the PTU flange.
9. Install a stand under the propeller shaft in the place where the thrust bearing is located.
10. Remove the bolts securing the driveshaft support bearing to the underside of the vehicle body.
11. While supporting the propeller shaft, move it back to disengage the constant velocity joint from the PTU flange.
12. Remove driveshaft from vehicle.
Assembly procedure
1. Supporting the driveshaft front, middle and rear, install it on the vehicle.
2. Thoroughly clean the center bearing-to-vehicle mounting bolts and apply threadlocker Saturn P/N 21005994 (catalog number for Canada: 10953488), on the thread of the bolts.
3. Install, but do not tighten, the support bearing mounting bolts.
4. Pull the front section of the PTO back and install the PTO onto the PTU flange.
5. Align index marks on CV joint of propshaft and PTU flange.
6. Thoroughly clean driveshaft flange mounting bolts and apply threadlocker, Saturn P/N: 21005994 (catalog number for Canada: 10953488), on the thread of the bolts.
7. Install the front driveshaft mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb-ft).
8. Align the index marks on the driveshaft yoke flange and rear drive unit flange, and install the driveshaft.
9. Thoroughly clean the yoke mounting bolts and apply threadlocker Saturn P/N 21005994 (catalog number for Canada: 10953488), on the thread of the bolts.
10. Install the bolts on the driveshaft yoke and rear drive unit flange.
Tighten
Tighten bolts to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
11. Tighten the support bearing mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb-ft).
12. Remove the props from the propeller shaft.
13. Lower the car.
