Removal procedure
Note: Intake and Exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement Procedures (CMP) are broadly the same; only the following procedure applies to the intake camshaft position sensor only.
Bank 1
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air filter assembly. See Part 1C2, "The mechanical part of the engine is HFV6 3.2L.
3. Disconnect wiring harness connector (1) from CMP sensor (2).
Attention! Before removing, clean the vicinity of the CMP sensor to prevent dirt from entering the engine.
4. Remove fixing screw (1) CMP sensor.
5. To remove the camshaft position sensor (2), first turn it to release it, and then pull it away from the front engine cover.

Installation procedure
Bank 1
1. Lubricate the O-ring of the CMP sensor with clean engine oil.
2. Install CMP sensor (2), by pushing it until the O-ring is pressed against the front engine cover.
Attention! Before tightening the fixing screw to the specified torque, check that the CMP sensor is fully inserted.
3. Install screw (1) mounting the camshaft position sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the screw securing the camshaft position sensor to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
4. Connect the CMP sensor connector.
