Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.
3. Remove transfer box. See Part 5D. "Transfer case".
4. Disconnect wiring harness connector (1) from crankshaft position sensor (CKP) (2).
Attention! Before removing, clean the area around the CKP sensor to prevent dirt from entering the engine.
5. Remove fixing screw (1) CKP sensor.
6. To remove the CKP sensor (2), first turn it so that it is free, and then pull it away from the engine block.
Installation procedure
1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor by pressing it until the O-ring is pressed against the engine block.
Attention! Before tightening the mounting screw to the specified torque, check that the CKP sensor is fully inserted.
3. Install the CKP sensor mounting screw.
Tighten
Tighten the crankshaft position sensor screw to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
4. Connect the CKP sensor connector.
