Removal procedure
Bank 1
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.
3. Remove the rear catalytic converter. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.
4. Remove the rear exhaust manifold. See Part 1C2, "The mechanical part of the engine is HFV6 3.2L.
5. Disconnect wiring harness connector (1) from knock sensor (2).
6. Remove screw (3) knock sensor mounts (2) to the cylinder block and remove the knock sensor.
Bank 2
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.
3. Remove the front catalytic converter. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.
4. Disconnect wiring harness connector (1) from knock sensor (2).
5. Remove screw (3) knock sensor mounts (2) to the cylinder block and remove the knock sensor.
Installation procedure
Bank 1
1. Ensure that the mounting surface of the knock sensor is flat and free from dirt, oxidation, etc.
Attention! Do not overtighten the fixing screw, as this may cause the knock sensor to malfunction.
2. Install knock sensor (2) and screw (3).
Tighten
Tighten knock sensor to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
3. Connect knock sensor connector (1).
Bank 2
1. Ensure that the mounting surface of the knock sensor is flat and free from dirt, oxidation, etc.
Attention! Do not overtighten the fixing screw, as this may cause the knock sensor to malfunction.
2. Install knock sensor (2) and screw (3).
Tighten
Tighten knock sensor to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
3. Connect knock sensor connector (1).
