Rear silencer

Removal procedure

1. Remove the gaskets and nuts securing both rear muffler pipe flanges to the front muffler pipe flange.



2. Disconnect both rear muffler assemblies from the rubber mounts.

3. Remove both rear mufflers.

4. Check the rear muffler and pipe for holes, damage, open seams, or other defects that could allow exhaust fumes to enter the passenger compartment.

Installation procedure

1. Attach both rear muffler assemblies to the rubber mounts.



2. Install the gaskets and nuts on both rear muffler pipe flanges to the front muffler pipe flange.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts securing the front silencer to the rear silencer to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
