After checking for fastening strength, absence of cracks, wear and tension of the accessory drive belt, replace the belt if necessary.
Inspect, check: The pictures below show the different stages of belt wear to help you decide when to replace the belt. The condition of the belt ribs is best assessed when the belt is laid on one of the large accessory drive system pulleys.
A - New belt
B - Low wear belt: few cracks, little wear on ribs and grooves. Replacement is not required.
C - Belt with a high degree of wear: significant cracks approx. 30 mm. It must be replaced before pieces of material begin to come off from the base of the belt.
D - Belt failure: Rib material is pulled away from the base. Replace belt immediately.
