Removal procedure
1. Remove the bottom engine cover. Follow Section 9N, Frame and lower bodywork.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the hoses and ducts of the charge air system. See Section 31.
4. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan flange to the transaxle assembly.
5. Loosen the A/C compressor lower bolts.
6. Remove the oil pan.
Cleaning procedure
1. Clean the sealing surface of the oil pan.
2. Clean the sealing surface of the motor base plate.
3. Clean the oil pan screws.
4. Clean the bolt holes of the engine base plate.
Installation procedure
Important: When changing the engine oil, reset the engine oil service before changing using the scan tool.
1. Apply sealant (LOCTITE 5900) on the sealing surface of the oil pan.
2. Install the oil pan.
3. Install the A/C compressor lower bolts.
4. Install the oil pan flange bolts to the transaxle assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the oil pan pinch bolts to 11 Nm (97.4 lb-in).
Tighten the A/C compressor lower bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
Tighten bolts securing oil pan flange to transaxle assembly to 50 Nm (36.9 lb-ft).
