Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove decorative cover. See «Decorative cover» in this section.
3. Remove the hoses and ducts of the charge air system. See «Air injection system» in this section.
4. Remove the fuel filter assembly. See Part 1F1, Engine Controls - 2.0 Diesel.
5. Drain the engine oil.
6. Loosen the drain bolt in the oil filter housing together with the washer and drain the engine oil from the oil filter housing.
7. Remove the oil filter cover with O-ring.
8. Remove oil filter.
Note: Check the engine oil charge interval and replace the engine oil filter according to the interval. You can also check the remaining engine oil life with a scan tool.
9. Remove the adapter for the oil filter housing.
10. Remove the oil filter housing with O-ring.
11. Drain the engine coolant. See Section 1D1, Engine Cooling - 2.0 Diesel.
12. Loosen the oil filter housing fitting bolt.
13. Disconnect the engine cooling oil cooler inlet/outlet hoses.
14. Remove the engine cooling oil cooler with O-ring.
Installation procedure
1. Install the engine cooling oil cooler with a new O-ring.
2. Connect the engine cooling oil cooler inlet/outlet hoses.
Tighten
Tighten the engine oil filter housing fitting bolt to 50 Nm (36.9 lb-ft).
3. Install the engine oil filter housing with a new O-ring.
4. Install the adapter for the oil filter housing.
Tighten
Tighten the adapter for the oil filter housing to 40 Nm (29.5 lb-ft).
5. Install the engine oil filter and cap with a new O-ring.
Tighten
Tighten the engine oil filter cap to 25 Nm (18.4 lb-ft).
Important: When changing the engine oil, reset the engine oil service before changing using the scan tool.
