Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the bottom engine cover. Follow Section 9N, Frame and lower bodywork.
3. Remove the nuts that secure the battery wire lead and the wire coming from the alternator from the starter solenoid relay leads.
4. Loosen the bolts securing the starter to the engine block.
5. Remove the starter assembly.
Installation procedure
1. Install starter mounting screws.
Tighten
Tighten the starter mounting screw on the engine block to 45 Nm (33.2 lb-ft).
2. Install the starter solenoid nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to connect the battery wire to the starter solenoid relay to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
