Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the decorative cover. See Section 1B, "Engine mechanical system - 2.0 Diesel".
3. Remove the charge air cooler inlet hoses. See Section 1B, "Engine mechanical system - 2.0 Diesel".
4. Remove the accessory belt. See Section 1B, "Engine mechanical system - 2.0 Diesel".
5. Disconnect the generator connector.
6. Remove alternator harness B+
7. Remove the generator.
Installation procedure
1. Install the generator.
2. Tighten the nut securing the alternator wire to the starter wire.
Tighten
Tighten the alternator bolts to 30 Nm (22.1 lb-ft).
Tighten the B+ alternator harness retainer nut to 25 Nm (18.4 lb-ft).
