- Remove the oil level gauge and drip oil onto a clean white paper towel.
- If the oil is diluted with fuel, this will show up by the way the paper towel absorbs the fuel from the drop of oil on the cloth. The fuel will spread in the form of a ring around the oil drop.
- If fuel dilution is detected, inspect aftermarket accessories installed on the vehicle that may have caused damage to the injection pump. After completing the repair work, perform the test again to make sure the problem is corrected.
- If there is no fuel dilution, check the oil level and correct if necessary.
