Folding the passenger seat
Attention: If you need to fold the seatback forward to carry long items such as skis, make sure the load is not resting on the airbag.
In a collision, an inflated pillow can throw an object at a person. This could result in serious injury or even death. Secure objects at a safe distance from the area that the airbag may occupy after deployment.
Caution: Things thrown over the back of the seat can hit and injure the occupant in the event of an unexpected stop, turn or collision. Remove or secure all items before driving.
To fold this passenger seat, follow the steps below.
1. Lower the headrest all the way down.
2. Pull the lever under the front of the seat while holding it, slide the seat back as far as it will go and release the lever.
3. Pull the tilt lever on the outside of the seat all the way up and tilt the seatback until it folds down.
To raise the passenger seat, follow the steps below.
1. Raise the seat back and return to its original position.
2. Lock the backrest in place by pressing the top of the backrest.
3. Pull the backrest forward to check if it is secure.
Caution: If the seatback is not locked, it may move forward in the event of an unexpected stop or collision. This may cause injury to the passenger sitting on this seat. Always test the seatback lock by trying to move it back and forth.
