Wiper
To turn on the rear window wiper, turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" or "ON" and rotate the end of the windshield wiper/washer lever forward.
The rear windshield wiper shift lever has three positions:
- OFF (off): The system is off. Standard position.
- INT (intermittent mode): Intermittent wiper operation.
- LO (low speed): continuous mode, low speed.
Washer
To spray washer fluid on the rear window, press and hold the button at the end of the lever until the washers begin to operate. After releasing the button, the washers will stop, but the brushes will do three more cycles.
Caution: Lack of proper vision of the driver may result in a collision resulting in personal injury, vehicle damage or other property damage.
Do not turn on the tailgate wiper if the glass is dry or if the wiper is difficult to operate, for example, due to adhering snow or ice. Operating the wiper in the presence of obstructions on the glass may damage the wiper brushes and motor, as well as the glass surface.
In cold weather, before turning on the cleaner, check that the brush is not frozen to the glass. Operating the wiper with frozen blades can damage the wiper motor.
Do not spray washer fluid on the rear window in frosty weather. Before turning on the washer, warm up the rear window.
Rear microprocessor cleaner
To improve rear visibility, the rear door wiper will automatically turn on when reverse gear is engaged while the windshield wiper is on.
Caution: Washer fluid may freeze on the rear window and impair rear visibility.
Do not operate the tailgate glass washer continuously for more than a few seconds, or operate with an empty washer reservoir. This can lead to overheating of the washer motor and costly repairs.
