Long term storage
If the car will not be used for several months:
- Wash the car and apply wax.
- Check for a layer of wax in the engine compartment and on the bottom of the car.
- Clean and protect rubber seals.
- Change engine oil.
- Drain the washer fluid reservoir.
- Check the condition of the frost protection and anti-corrosion protection.
- Set the tire pressure to the prescribed full load.
- Leave the vehicle in a dry and well ventilated area. For a manual transmission, select first or reverse gear. In the case of an automatic transmission, set the switch to position P. Take measures to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
- Do not apply the parking brake.
- Open the hood, close all doors and lock the vehicle.
- Remove the clip from the negative terminal of the car battery. Make sure all systems, including anti-theft, are disabled.
- Close the hood.
Commissioning
When you want to use the car again:
- Connect the clamp to the negative terminal of the car battery. Turn on the power windows.
- Check tire pressure.
- Fill up the windshield washer reservoir.
- Check engine oil level.
- Check coolant level.
- Replace license plate if necessary.
