Removal procedure
1. Remove the bolts securing the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder and remove the reservoir from the master cylinder.
2. Remove the brake pipe fittings from the master cylinder.
3. Seal the open ends of the brake lines and reservoir to prevent spillage of brake fluid and environmental contamination.
4. Loosen the nuts securing the master cylinder to the vacuum booster.
5. Remove the master cylinder and drain the brake fluid.
Installation procedure
1. Install the master cylinder to the vacuum booster.
Tighten
Tighten the master cylinder nuts to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
2. Open all closed ends.
3. Install the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 16 Nm (12 lb-ft).
4. Install the pins securing the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder.
5. Add brake fluid.
6. Check for leaks.
7. Recheck the brake fluid level.
8. Bleed the brake system. See Part 4A. Hydraulic brakes.
