Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect rear obstacle sensor connector if equipped.
3. Loosen trim bolts on rear wheel arch trim.
4. Loosen the lower trim holders.
5. Remove the rear combination lamps. See Section 9B "Lighting systems".
6. Loosen the upper cover screws and release the holders.
7. Remove the rear bumper cover from the rear fender by pulling the edge of the bumper outward.
8. Remove the rear bumper cover from the vehicle.
Installation procedure
1. Install the trim on the car.
2. Install the edge of the rear bumper trim onto the rear fender.
Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals can lead to rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to prevent premature corrosion.
3. Install the upper trim holders and tighten the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the upper screws of the cladding with a force of 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
4. Install the rear combination lamps. Go to Section 9B, Lighting Systems.
5. Install the lower cladding brackets.
6. Tighten trim bolts on rear wheel arch trim.
Tighten
Tighten rear wheel arch trim bolts to 4 Nm (36 lb-in).
7. Connect the rear obstacle sensor connector, if equipped.
8. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
