Removal procedure

1. Remove the lower tailgate trim panel. See «Tailgate lower trim» in this section.

2. Disconnect the lock rod.

3. Disconnect electrical connector.

4. Loosen the bolts and remove the tailgate latch.

Installation procedure

1. Connect electrical connector.

2. Attach the lock rod.

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals can lead to rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to prevent premature corrosion.

3. Install the tailgate latch with the bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the tailgate latch bolts to 10 Nm (88 lb-in).
