Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge and pump out the refrigerant. See «Procedures for discharging, topping up oil, evacuating and charging the air conditioning system» in this section.
3. Unscrew the fixing screws of the expansion tank.
4. Remove expansion tank.
5. Unscrew the fixing nut from the hose connection block and remove the A/C hose connection block from the top rear of the compressor.
6. Cap all openings to prevent contamination.
7. Loosen the bolt of the suction hose support clamp and remove the clamp on the left side of the wing niche in the engine compartment.
8. Remove the fixing nut from the evaporator flange connection block and remove the A/C suction hose from the connection block on the evaporator flange on the firewall. Dispose of the O-ring.
9. Remove air conditioner suction hose.
10. Cap the evaporator flange to prevent contamination.
Installation procedure
1. Push a new O-ring onto the end of the suction hose on the evaporator flange.
2. Install the hose assembly and support clamp in place in the vehicle.
3. Insert the end of the suction hose into the evaporator flange.
4. Tighten the fixing nuts on the evaporator flange connection block.
Tighten
Tighten the fixing nuts on the suction hose connection block to 16 Nm (12 lb-ft).
5. Install new sealing washers on the guide pins of the suction/exhaust unit fitting. The washers must rest against the block fitting surface.
6. Install the suction hose support clamp on the suspension strut on the left side and tighten the fixing nut on the support clamp.
Tighten
Tighten the fixing nut on the suction hose support clamp to 16 Nm (12 lb-ft).
7. Install the outlet hose connector block in place on the compressor. While holding it in place, tighten the fixing nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut securing the outlet hose connection block to the compressor to a torque of 16 Nm (12 lb-ft).
8. Install expansion tank. See section 1D, "Engine cooling".
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Vacuum and charge the air conditioning system. See «Procedures for discharging, topping up oil, evacuating and charging the air conditioning system» in this section.
