reference Information
- Initial check: Performed regardless of the presence of a passenger in the seat.
- If the seat belt buckle is buckled, the warning lamp goes out immediately and the audible alarm is silenced, regardless of the ignition status.
Front seat belt buckle with tensioner
The front seat belt buckle with pretensioner contains a mechanically controlled pyrotechnic piston that is activated in a frontal collision, straight or at an angle, and selects the slack in the seat belt. After an emergency situation in which the front seat belt buckle with pretensioner was activated, it must be replaced.
Three-point safety belt with emergency locking retractor (ELR)
Three-point seat belt pretensioner with emergency locking retractor (ELR) normally unlocked, allowing the passenger to move freely. The exception is emergency situations - sharp braking, sharp acceleration or sharp turns.
2-point lap belt for middle rear seat
The two-point lap belt for the middle rear seat is a single continuous band. The belt webbing runs from the attachment point through the latch plate and then into the retractor.
Operational and functional checks
Attention!
Keep seat belts away from sharp objects and other objects that could damage them.
- Avoid deformation and damage to the parts of the lock and the latch tongue.
- Do not bleach or dye the belt webbing. Use only water and mild soap to clean the belts.
- When installing the seat belt mounting bolts and screws, first tighten them by hand to get into the threads.
- Do not attempt to repair the belt retractors and covers. Replace any defective units with new ones.
- Replace cut or otherwise damaged belts.
1. Check all seat belt bolts and screws to make sure they are securely tightened.
2. Examine the seat belt buckle. The lock should be easy to fasten and unfasten.
3. After inserting the tongue into the lock, pull the belt sharply. The lock must not disengage.
4. Fully extend the shoulder section of the belt and check that there are no twists or tears in the belt.
5. Release the shoulder strap until it retracts completely. The belt should retract freely.
