WARNING: Do not smoke or use open flames while refueling.
Chevrolet Aveo vehicles are designed to run on octane unleaded gasoline (RON) not lower than 95. It is allowed to use gasoline with an octane rating of less than 95, but only as a last resort, if it is impossible to fill the car with gasoline with an octane rating of 95 or higher during the trip. In such cases, it is not necessary to specifically adjust the engine. When refueling with gasoline with an octane rating below 95, engine performance will be reduced. If you still refuel with low octane gasoline, do not subject the engine to heavy loads, this can lead to serious damage. Fill with the recommended fuel as soon as possible.
WARNING: Refuel your vehicle with unleaded gasoline only. Even a small amount of leaded gasoline «poisons» the active mass of the catalytic converter of exhaust gases and leads to the failure of the converter.
At nozzle tips of dispensers for leaded gasoline (old-style columns with pointers) was an enlarged diameter. Therefore, to avoid accidental refueling with such gasoline, the diameter of the filling pipe neck is made smaller than that of the nozzle tips of these dispensers.
USEFUL ADVICE: If the gas station where you expected to refuel the car has just drained the fuel from the tank truck, it is better to look for another column or return in a few hours. The fact is that not all dispensers are equipped with good cleaning filters and it takes time for all the dirt in the fuel to settle to the bottom of the gas station tank. Refuel your car at trusted gas stations. The power and durability of the engine directly depend on the quality of the fuel.
Wipe off fuel spilled on body parts immediately with a clean rag. When refueling, do not use plastic cans or containers as there is a risk of sparks due to the buildup of static electricity.
The fuel tank cap is located on the right rear wing of the body under the hatch cover.
1. Stop the engine.
2. In order to unlock the lock of the fuel tank filler hatch cover, press the A key on the instrument panel...
3.... or button B on the ignition key remote.
4. Pry off the edge and fully open the filler manhole cover.
5. Turn the fuel tank filler cap counterclockwise and remove the cap.
WARNING: Because fuel vapors can build up pressure inside the tank, open the filler cap slowly. This will equalize the pressure inside the tank with atmospheric pressure. If you see steam coming out from under the cork or hear a hissing sound, then stop unscrewing the cork and wait until these sounds stop. Otherwise, fuel may splash out of the tank.
6. Hang the cork on the hook on the inside of the lid.
NOTE: To prevent loss, the plug is attached to the body with a plastic band. The harness will also prevent the manhole cover from being closed if the plug is not screwed into the tank neck.
7. Insert the fuel dispenser nozzle into the fuel filler neck and refuel the vehicle. If you are refueling the car from a canister, then before refueling, insert a funnel into the fuel tank neck and fill in gasoline from the canister.
WARNING: It is not allowed to refuel the vehicle's fuel tank after the fuel valve is automatically turned off or after fuel appears in the fuel tank filler when refueling with a valve that is not equipped with an automatic shut-off system. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in excess fuel spilling out of the fuel tank when the vehicle is parked.
8. After filling, turn the cap clockwise until it clicks into place. The cork is equipped with a tightening torque limiter, so after a click it will scroll.
9. Close the cap and wipe off fuel spills with a cleaning cloth.
