NOTE: According to the manufacturer's recommendations, the engine will reach operating temperature faster, and its wear will be less if, after starting, it is warmed up not at idle, but while driving, avoiding, of course, excessive load on the engine.
When the starter is engaged, the manual transmission control lever must be in the neutral position, and the automatic transmission mode selector in the position «R» or «N».
Do not allow the engine to operate at a crankshaft speed at which the tachometer needle is in the red zone of the scale.
On a car with a manual transmission, it is forbidden to start moving from a place «on the starter». You can start moving only in first gear with the parking brake lever fully lowered, gently releasing the clutch pedal.
Do not exceed the carrying capacity specified in the technical characteristics of the car: overloading leads to increased wear of tires and suspension parts, to loss of directional stability.
It is forbidden to operate the vehicle with the insufficient oil pressure warning light in the instrument cluster on: the light must light up briefly (no more than two seconds) only when starting the engine. This also applies to the battery discharge warning light, as sometimes the cause of its ignition can be a short circuit in the wiring, leading to a fire in the car.
Regularly check the air pressure in the tires: low pressure leads to intensive tire wear. The difference in pressure values in the tires of one axle of 0.2-0.3 kgf / cm2 leads to side slip and deterioration in vehicle handling.
Regularly check the condition of the rubber boots on the ball joints, constant velocity joints and tie rod joints. Damaged covers must be replaced, as water and dirt will quickly disable the mechanisms.
For refueling, use fuels and lubricants and operating fluids recommended by the manufacturer.
Regularly check the condition of the battery terminals and the fastening of the wires on them. Loose fastening or oxidation of the terminals can damage the electronic devices of the car.
Remember that the battery terminals are of different diameters: the diameter of the positive terminal is slightly larger than the negative one. Make sure that the wires are connected in accordance with the polarity indicated on their tips and terminals.
When charging the battery directly on the vehicle from an external power source, be sure to disconnect it from the generator (remove the terminal from the battery «plus»).
Do not violate the deadlines for inspection and maintenance work. All work is carried out in full. The frequency of work is indicated in sec. «Maintenance».
