1. Engage 1st gear in a manual transmission or move the automatic transmission selector lever to the position «R» (parking), apply the parking brake to the vehicle. Ask the passengers to get out of the vehicle. If you have towed a trailer, disconnect it from the vehicle. To prevent accidental starting of the engine, remove the key from the ignition.
2. Open the trunk lid.
3. Raise the spare wheel well cover.
NOTE: In the luggage compartment, there is a spare wheel A and a cassette B for storing tools in a niche.
4. Remove the crank 2 from the cassette (pic. 2.1)...
5....wrench 3 for wheel nuts...
6....and jack 5.
7. Insert the bent end of the wrench into the eye of the power screw of the jack, and the shank of the wrench into a rectangular hole in the handle of the wheel nut wrench. Turn the wheel nut wrench clockwise to spread the jack slightly.
8. Install the jack under the threshold of the body. The jack must be perpendicular to the supporting surface. When using the jack on soft ground, place a block or plank under the base of the jack.
NOTE: In places intended for the installation of a jack, recesses are made on the flanging of the thresholds.
9. If you lift the vehicle to change a wheel, loosen the wheel nuts by half a turn before lifting.
10. Turn the wheel nut wrench clockwise to slightly raise the vehicle.
11. Before finally jacking up the car to the required height, check again if the jack has tilted in any direction.
WARNING If possible, do not work under a jacked vehicle, but if necessary, install additional supports under the body. Additional supports should only be installed under places specially designed for lifting the car. Between the support and the car body, place a rubber or wooden gasket. Install the tripod support so that two of its legs are on the side of the vehicle body, and one is on the outside.
12. After using the instruments, place them in the cassette. If you removed the cassette from the trunk, put the cassette in the luggage compartment niche box.
13. Close the niche cover.
WARNING Before continuing to drive after replacing a damaged wheel, stow and secure the removed wheel, jack and tools. If tools and other items are not stowed in the stowed position, the driver and passengers may be seriously injured by these items in the event of sudden braking or an accident.
