An electrically driven vacuum pump, which serves as an additional source of vacuum required for the operation of the vacuum brake booster, is installed in the engine compartment, on the left side member of the body. The pump has a non-separable design, so if it fails, it is replaced as an assembly.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Squeeze the clamps of the hose tip to the vacuum brake booster...
3.... and disconnect the hose from the vacuum pump fitting.
4. Squeeze the clamps of the wiring harness block...
5.... and disconnect the block from the vacuum pump.
6. Remove the pump outlet hose from the hole in the side member of the body.
7. Turn out two bolts of fastening of an arm of the vacuum pump to a side member of a body and remove the pump.
8. Turn away a nut of a bolt of fastening of an arm to the vacuum pump, holding a bolt from turning by the second key...
9.... remove the nut...
10....puck...
11.... and a rubber bushing.
12. Similarly turn off a nut of the second bolt, remove a washer, a rubber plug and disconnect the pump and an arm.
13. Remove the hose from the vacuum pump fitting and finally disconnect the pump from the bracket.
14. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Pay attention to the markings on the pump. For replacement, purchase a pump with the same marking.
