Leading elements
The leading elements are two flat ground surfaces. One of them is the back surface of the engine flywheel, and the other is the pressure plate. The pressure plate is installed in a steel case (basket), which is bolted to the flywheel.
Driven elements
The driven element is a clutch disc with a splined sleeve that slides freely along the splines of the input shaft and causes it to rotate. The driven and driving elements are held in contact by spring force. This force is generated in the pressure plate assembly.
Shutdown drive elements
The clutch release system consists of the clutch pedal, clutch shaft, fork and release bearing. When force is applied to the clutch pedal, the fork-shaped leash on its axis and the inner end push the release bearing. The bearing then pushes the release levers in the pressure plate assembly, disengaging the clutch.
