Multiport fuel injection system (MFI) is a device controlled by the ECM. It measures the amount of pressurized fuel into each cylinder.
The ECM sends control pulses to the fuel injector solenoid.
Fuel enters the top of the injector, through the valve ball or needle, and a recess in the guide plate at the injector outlet.
The guide plate contains 6 holes that control the flow of fuel, forming a conical spray of fuel towards the intake valve. The atomized fuel vaporizes before entering the combustion chamber.
