- disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;
- disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector (IAT);
- disconnect the intake air pipe from the throttle valve;
- disconnect the breather from the cylinder head cover;
- unscrew the fastening screws and remove the air filter;
- remove the front right wheel and mudguard;
- remove the auxiliary drive belt;
- unscrew the fastening screw and remove the crankshaft pulley;
- unscrew the fastening screws and remove the upper and lower front timing covers;
- unscrew the screws securing the power steering pump;
- install the crankshaft pulley mounting screw and use it to turn the shaft clockwise until the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover match;
- loosen the screws securing the coolant pump;
- using a suitable tool, turn the coolant pump counterclockwise, thus loosening the tension of the timing belt;
- Remove the timing belt, starting with the power steering pump.
Installation
Before installing the timing belt, follow the instructions below:
- align the marks on the crankshaft gear and the rear timing cover (see fig. T250 3.016);
- Align the marks on the camshaft gears.
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
