Immobilizer (option)
The immobilizer system is an additional means of anti-theft protection of the car and serves to prevent unauthorized starting of the engine. For vehicles equipped with an immobilizer system, only a mechanical ignition key with a coded transponder is suitable. The transponder is inside the key. The engine can only be started if there is a transponder with the correct electronic code in the key. A mechanically suitable key can only unlock the door or turn on the ignition, but will not allow the engine to be started. When the ignition key is turned to the LOCK position and removed from the ignition switch, the engine will automatically lock.
