Rear brake pad clearance is self-adjusting. As the brake pads wear out, with an increase in the gap of the working stroke of the pads, the regulating mechanism (with an increase in the stroke of the brake pads, the stroke of the spring of the adjusting mechanism, it is enough to turn the adjusting nut by one tooth) turns the serrated adjusting nut an angle sufficient to restore the correct clearance.
When installing the brake drum, set the length of the adjusting strut so that the brake pads do not interfere with the installation of the brake drum.
To adjust the gap between the shoes and the drum, the adjusting mechanism should be activated by depressing the brake pedal a sufficient number of times (at least 10 times), until the vibration sound of the adjusting spring on the adjusting nut stops.
After adjusting the rear drum brake, adjust the parking brake cable tension.
