Withdrawal
1. Remove the toothed belt.
2. Disconnect the vent tube on the timing cover.
3. Remove the valve cover screws.
4. Remove the valve cover.
5. Remove the valve cover gasket.
6. Install the valve spring compressor.
7. Remove roller push levers (rockers) using a valve spring compressor.
Note. Be very careful not to scratch, nick or otherwise damage the camshaft. Such damage can impair the performance of the vehicle.
8. While holding the camshaft, remove the camshaft sprocket screw.
9. Remove a gear pulley of a camshaft.
10. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
11. Remove the battery and its shelf.
12. Disconnect the ignition coil connector of the ignition system.
13. Disconnect the wires from the coil.
14. Remove the ignition coil nuts.
15. Remove the ignition coil.
16. Remove the ignition coil mounting plate screws.
17. Remove the ignition coil mounting plate.
18. Remove the screws of the axial retainer of the camshaft.
19. Remove the camshaft axial retainer.
20. Remove the camshaft.
Installation
1. Install the camshaft.
2. Establish an axial clamp of a camshaft.
3. Tighten the camshaft axial retainer screws to 10 Nm.
4. Measure the axial run of the camshaft. It should be 0.09-0.21 mm.
5. Install the ignition coil mounting plate.
6. Fasten the ignition coil mounting plate with screws, tightening them to a torque of 10 Nm.
7. Install the ignition coil.
8. Tighten the screws securing the ignition coil to 10 Nm.
9. Connect the wires to the ignition coil.
10. Plug in the ignition coil connector.
11. Install the battery and its shelf.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
13. Install the camshaft sprocket.
14. While firmly holding the camshaft in place, install the camshaft sprocket screw and tighten to 45 Nm.
15. Install the roller arms.
16. Install the valve cover.
17. Tighten the valve cover screws to 9 Nm.
18. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the timing cover.
19. Establish a gear belt.
